The plan of the HKBP church forms a triangle. From the tip of the triangle, a straight line is formed due to the meeting of the composition of the vertical wall planes pointing towards the sky. This describes humanity's spiritual journey, which will ultimately return to God the Creator. The light that enters from above and illuminates the altar is a metaphor for the bright path of God's love for his people to join them in heaven.
